As one of Australia’s iconic travel destinations, the Blue Mountains really does offer something for everyone. While we obviously love the incredible adventure that this ancient landscape brings, but it’s so much more than that. Here are a few of our favourites.

Exploring the National Parks
You know that we do guided hiking, abseiling and canyoning but you can also take a self-guided wander to get off the beaten track. Check out the National Parks and Wildlife website for up to date track information to find a route that suits your ability.

Check out Scenic World
There’s a reason this family run Scenic World has been welcoming travellers since 1945 – breathtaking scenery, incredible history and really fun activities. Check out the famous Scenic Railway, with a track on a scream-inducing 52 degree incline, the Scenic Cableway that runs across the cliffs from side to side and the 2.4 kilometre Scenic Walkway

Potter in the cafes and shops of Leura
This quaint mountain town population swells on the weekends as out of towners treat themselves to a country café lunch and wander through the leafy streets of Leura. Try Leura Garage for chic industrial eco interiors and the Old Church Café for a quick morning coffee hit and gallery space. Hidden down quiet laneways vintage shoppers will fun retro and vintage clothing, homewares and antique pieces.

Take in a Lookout view
With soaring cliffs as far as the eye can see, there are also loads of lookouts offering incredible views over the valleys. Try Govett’s Leap for an easy and relatively family friendly lookout (hold on to your toddlers though, there are fences but you don’t want to test their strength!), or one of our favourites, Hargreaves Lookout with over 180 degrees of breathtaking vista over the Megalong Valley.

The Big Apple
Nearby Bilpin is famous for their apples and if we’re taking a trip to Sydney we always stop in at one of the apple shops for a piece of towering apple pie with whipped cream, and of course, pick up a bag of top notch apples to enjoy. Try Pie in the Sky, delicious!
